I Will Wait

I hate waiting. Did I ever tell you that? It irritates me to wait in a long line. I also don't like waiting for people who come 30 minutes later than planned. Patience? I didn't have it until you came along. When you told me that it will take you more or less 10 years to finish everything, I took a great big leap and said, I'll wait for you. You didn't have to ask me to wait. I felt so sure about it.

You never have to feel bad about making me wait. I know you think it's "not cool to make me wait". But I want to wait for you, love. Be whoever you need to be and do whatever your heart tells you. Take your time. I don't want you to feel any pressure. I don't want you to feel like we're running out of time because if you do, things might go wrong. I'll be here. I'm just one miss call away. You want to be an engineer? Then be one. I'm sure you'll do great. You want to be a biologist too? Great! You want to track Orca whales? Go ahead. I'll be waiting by the shore playing with the sea otters; getting them out of trouble.

Babe, I'll wait for you. We don't have to hurry.
